As Halloween night and the full moon draw near, in San Vito Romano history meets imagination. But for us in the San Vito Lovers community, legends are not just tales of the past: they are seeds of regeneration for the future.
From abandoned ruin to the “Hall of Girolamo the Ghost”
In our Master Plan for regeneration and accessibility, “San Vito Romano: the village coming back to life”, this historic ruin along the ramp of Via Porta Olevano finds a new life and a deep civic meaning:
- The Reception Point of the Albergo Diffuso: contemporary architecture in burnished iron, glass and local stone that reuses the existing walls without taking up new land.
- The Hall and Visitor Centre: a warm, bright meeting place, designed for welcoming guests, telling the story of the village and showcasing our local products.
- A piece of the Pedestrian Spine: a key stop on the accessible route that links the entrance of the Pinetina (Porta Verde) with the ancient acropolis, passing through Porta Cavoni / Le Difese.
The key to the village is in our hands
Today the key that Girolamo holds in the moonlight no longer opens just a secret vat: it opens the doors of our village to sustainable, mindful and lively tourism.
Because, as we always remember in the guide to our proposal:

👉 “One single hand. Many fingers. A territory to bring back to life.”
Civic note: the visual and the story are part of the preliminary Master Plan and of the Albergo Diffuso concept devised by Vito Rossi. A guiding contribution and a proposal of ideas open to the participation of all citizens and local administrators.
