Culture&Tourism
With the help of well-established local organisations, we are working to promote a series of initiatives focused on culture in general and on tourist guidance. More details will follow.
Apart from the Photo Contest, what follows are only ideas: we don't yet know for certain whether they will go ahead, or when.
To try to make these ideas happen, we will also seek to work with institutional organisations.
We are looking for people to help us develop these ideas: if you would like to lend a hand, get in touch.

Journeys Through Time
Articles that take us back to the San Vito of the past: an image of bygone days recreated with artificial intelligence and a text that tells its story.

San Vito Romano: the rhythm of the fields and the voice of the bonfires
The columns of smoke from pruning bonfires rising from the valley at dawn: a photographic and poetic project between art, land and memory.

San Vito, lovingly set down on its hill
A photo-art piece that imagines divine hands and angels placing San Vito Romano on its hill among the Monti Prenestini: an invitation to see the village as a gift to look after.

Under the shade that was no longer there
In the little square near the Arco dell'Ospitale, the pizzutello grape pergola of Grandpa Giovanni's tavern returns, imagined: small tables, card games and the conviviality of a village that knows how to come together.

The archipoetry of "La Loglia"
Under the old beams of the Loglia, on an autumn evening: where the scent of roast chestnuts meets the memory of the village.

"San Vito Lavers": our mothers' wet Facebook
A journey through memory to the old public wash-house of San Vito Romano, when the washing was done out of the house and stories were told to everyone.

The Cona di San Martino: where time still stands still
A journey back in time to the Cona di San Martino, the humble wayside shrine where the farmers of San Vito Romano stopped to rest and pray on their way back from the fields.

A wartime position on the San Vito Romano–Bellegra road
A journey back to 1944 along the provincial road to Bellegra, just before Monte Casali: a mortar position of the Caesar Line and the wartime ordnance that resurfaced during roadworks.

Welcome to 1550
A journey through time in Piazza Governo Vecchio, when San Vito was the "Castrum Sancti Viti": the blacksmith's forge, the farrier and the hidden gate of the village.
