On Sunday 18 October 2026, hiking guide Stefania Calzini leads an autumn hike in the heart of the Monti Simbruini: from Campo dell’Osso up to the summit of Monte Autore which, at 1,855 metres, is the highest in the province of Rome. The start is at 9:00 AM from Campo dell’Osso.
The route is easy, about 11 km long with 400 metres of elevation gain, and takes 5-6 hours of walking (breaks and lunch excluded) through colourful beech forests, clearings and views over the Simbrivio Valley. The hike is open to adults and children aged 10 and over who are used to walking; dogs are welcome.
