On Sunday 25 October 2026 San Vito Romano takes part in the tenth national “Camminata tra gli Olivi” (Walk Among the Olive Trees), promoted by the Associazione Nazionale Città dell’Olio and held on the same day all over Italy. The meeting point is at 10:00 AM in Via Guido Baccelli, in front of the post office.
The walk, about 2 km long and lasting a couple of hours, of medium difficulty, crosses the historic center up to Via Porta Olevano in the medieval village, with guided visits to churches, monuments and historic buildings. At around 12:30 PM it reaches a farm for a visit to the olive mill, a meeting with farmers and technicians on caring for olive groves and the effects of their abandonment, and a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil and local products.
Participation is free and open to all. It is organized by the Pro Loco and the Associazione Italiana Volontari Protezione Civile of San Vito Romano; for information and booking contact Desirè on +39 328 155 1091 (WhatsApp preferred). Comfortable shoes and sportswear are recommended; there is no alternative program in case of bad weather, and the route is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
