From Monday 9 to Friday 13 November 2026, every day from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Porta del Parco in Subiaco hosts the Mycology Course (“Corso di Micologia”) organised by the Monti Simbruini Regional Nature Park. The lessons are given by mycologists Valerio Pizzelli, Giovanni Ricci and Paolo Antonelli and focus on identifying mushroom species and on sustainable picking in the protected area.
At the end of the course participants receive the certificate needed to apply for a mushroom-picking permit in the Lazio Region, as required by regional law 32/1998. Participation costs 50 euros and the course runs with a minimum of 15 participants.
