On Sunday 18 October 2026 Polysonica brings a morning of headphone listening to Subiaco, between the old town and the Rocca Abbaziale.
It starts at 11:00 AM with the Sound Walk (Percorso Sonoro): meet at Piazza Sant’Andrea 1 and, headphones on, follow a guided walk of about 45 minutes through the medieval streets, with a narrator telling local stories and memories and the sounds of the plants of these valleys translated into music.
At 12:00 noon comes the concert of the Plants Play Orchestra, directed by Edoardo Taori: an orchestra of plants whose signals, picked up by biosensors, are turned into notes. In good weather the concert is held outdoors, on the garden terraces below the fortress; in bad weather, inside the Rocca Abbaziale (Salita don Gigi, Piazza Santa Maria della Valle).
Admission is free, with compulsory booking and limited places, for as long as headphones are available; booking information is on polysonica.com. Registered participants can take a guided tour of the Rocca at a reduced price. The sound walk will then remain available for twelve months in the “A Sonic Journey” app.
The event is organised by Polysonica and Brain Community APS, with the support of Regione Lazio, Visit Lazio, the Municipality of Subiaco and the Rocca Abbaziale di Subiaco.
