As part of the “Sentieri dei Borghi” (Village Trails) series, the CAI Palestrina section organizes a loop hike through Fossa Ampilla, between Genazzano and Rocca di Cave, with a stop at the Cretaceous Fossil Reef and a descent via Acqua di Mezzavalle. A hiking-grade (E) route, about 600 meters of elevation gain, through villages, nature and the geology of the Prenestini Mountains.
Participation is open to CAI members in good standing; non-members can take part by taking out the required insurance policy at the section office. Registrations must be confirmed at the section office by 8:00 PM on the Friday before the hike.
