On Sunday 25 October 2026 “Escursioni del Sam” offers a guided loop hike (“Lungo la Via della Pietra e dell’Acqua”) in the Monti Simbruini Regional Nature Park: from the medieval village of Jenne the path descends into the Aniene gorge to the Mola Vecchia, follows the river past the Grotte dell’Inferniglio and reaches the Trevi Waterfall (also known as Comunacque), before returning to Jenne. Along the way the guide will talk about the Marsican brown bear, the Apennine wolf and the wildlife of the Park.
The meeting point is at 9:00 AM in Jenne, with departure at 9:30 AM and return at around 3:30 PM. The route is about 14 km long with 450 metres of elevation gain, difficulty E (hiking), for about 6 hours including stops. Trekking boots, a windproof or waterproof jacket and layered clothing are required; bring a packed lunch and at least 1.5 litres of water.
The cost is 20 euros per person for the AIGAE environmental hiking guide service, payable in cash on the day or via PayPal.
