With order no. 28 of 2026, the Municipality has introduced new rules to improve recycling: organic and residual waste must now be placed only in bins fitted with RFID tags, properly closed, with no bags left outside. Anyone who doesn’t have one yet can collect it for free at the municipal offices.
The requirement applies to all households and businesses, as well as to associations, committees and organisers of public events (fairs, festivals, food events), who must ensure proper waste separation with clear signage and correctly placed bins. Compliance checks will be carried out by the Local Police together with the waste operator, with penalties for non-compliant disposal.
The goal is to raise the Municipality’s recycling rate, currently stalled at around 70%.
