A walk from the centre of the village to the “Madonnina”, as the people of San Vito affectionately call the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Compigliano.
It starts from Piazza Augusto Baccelli, in front of the Tre Fontane, and follows Via Borgo Mario Theodoli past the town hall. It then turns into Via Guido Baccelli, which climbs gently southwards to Viale Trento Trieste; from there it continues along Via Sisto Iella, the highest point of the walk, and finally descends along Via Pietro Baccelli to the sanctuary forecourt.
The route is on paved roads, just over a kilometre one way, with a gentle climb of about 30 metres followed by a descent of the same height down to the sanctuary: suitable for everyone. Once there, it is worth walking around the fifteen ceramic shrines depicting the mysteries of the rosary that surround the church (Places section).
