📸 The first SanVitoRomano Lovers photo contest is on: “San Vito Romano: il sole ridisegna i contorni” (the sun redraws the outlines) ☀️
Dear friends of SanVitoRomano Lovers, the time has come to bring out your best photos!
Every day the sun, the moon and the street lamps light up San Vito Romano and change its outlines: shadows, colours and perspectives keep showing us something new in what we thought we knew. With this contest we invite you to look at the town with fresh eyes and to share the little secrets each of us treasures.
🌄 What to photograph – panoramas, glimpses, alleys, scenes of daily life, nature and traditions: anything that tells the story of San Vito Romano and its surroundings.
🕰️ Photos of today and yesterday – recent shots are welcome, and so are historical photos from your personal or family collection. Got an old album tucked away in a drawer? Now is the time to open it!
📱 Any device – camera or smartphone, anything goes. Light retouching (brightness, contrast, colour, cropping) is allowed, as long as the photo stays true to the scene it shows.
🙌 Open to everyone – residents and visitors alike, taking part is free of charge and you can send as many photos as you like.
🗓️ Deadline – photos must be submitted by 30 November 2026.
🏆 How to win – from all the photos received, 20 finalists will be chosen and published on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The photo with the most likes in total across the three platforms wins: the count will take place on 7 January 2027. There are no cash prizes, but the winning photo and the other selected ones will be published, exhibited and used to make San Vito Romano better known.
©️ The rights stay yours – the photos remain the property of whoever took them (or holds the rights); you only allow us to use them for the contest and to promote the town. If recognisable people appear in your photos, make sure you have their permission.
🤔 “Can I send this photo?” A few concrete examples
📷 I took a photo of the sunset behind the bell tower with my smartphone, then brightened it a little and cropped it.
✅ Yes. Any device is fine, and adjusting light and colour or cropping is allowed.
🖼️ I have a black-and-white photo of the patron saint’s feast from the 1960s, taken by my grandfather and kept in the family album.
✅ Yes. Historical photos from your personal or family collection are welcome.
🌐 I found a beautiful photo of Piazza Roma online (or on someone else’s profile) and I’d like to send it in.
❌ No, unless the person who took it has given you permission: you can only send photos taken by others if you hold the rights or have their authorisation.
🤝 A friend who loves photography has given me permission to send some of their shots of the town.
✅ Yes. You can send photos taken by others, as long as the author has allowed them to be published and exhibited for the contest.
🌈 I photographed the castle, but the sky was grey: I replaced it with a sunset sky and added a rainbow.
❌ No. Changes that add, replace or transform elements of the scene are not allowed.
👧 I have a photo of children playing in the square during the feast, and their faces are clearly recognisable.
✅ Yes, but only if you have their parents’ permission. ❌ Without it, no.
🏞️ I have a lovely photo of the Monastery of Saint Benedict in Subiaco.
❌ No. Photos must be taken within the territory of San Vito Romano and tell the story of the town.
📅 I’ve finally picked my photos and I’m sending them on 3 December 2026.
❌ No. The deadline is 30 November 2026: don’t leave it to the last minute!
